Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
FUE is a hair transplantation technique that gives us natural results when both extracting and transplanting the hair. FUE is procedure of transferring live hair roots that are extracted from the hairy area just as in any hair transplant procedure.
Bistoury is not used for FUE in the donor area, stitches are not required and a visible scar will not be left in the area of extraction, it gives people hair without intercepting their daily lives.
Phases of FUE Procedure
It approximately takes 1 hour.
First of all, the hair of the neck is cut; because, hair must be in 0.3 mm length in order to be extracted one by one by hair transplantation robot or micro motor. After that, the area of extraction is applied local anesthetics (jetocain, citanes and marcaine).
It approximately takes 3 hours. It is the procedure of extracting the hair roots one by one by hair transplantation robot or micro motor. At the edge of the micro motor or hair transplantation motor, 0,8-1 mm punch must be used for extraction. Hair roots should be put in a special solution in groups of 100 for you to see clearly. A break is given for food and other needs before going through the third phase.
It approximately takes 3 hours. You decide one last time on the distribution of the hair roots. The area of transplantation is anesthetized totally by applying local anesthetics. After calculating the depth that hair roots should be in and the diameters, canals are opened for the transplantation. Opening the canals is the most important part of hair transplantation.
Why is canal opening that important?
1.Micro cuts (canals) that hair roots will be inserted in must be in the size of the grafts for the hair roots to get nutrition.
2.Angles of micro cuts that hair roots will be inserted in should be the same with the present hair.
3.Diameter and length of the hair roots that are extracted from the donor site must be calculated. Canal openers must be personal.
4.Angles of the grafts that will be planted must be calculated by experts considering the head and hair type of the person, canals must be opened in 45˚ angle.
